What this covers

This policy explains what information HeavyEquipmentFix (heavyequipmentfix.com) collects, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. The short version: you can browse every tool and guide without an account, we collect the minimum needed to run the site, and we do not sell your data.

Information you give us

• Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile info from Google; we never see your Google password.
• Content you post. Questions, answers, and profile details you publish in the forum are public by design.
• Questions you ask the AI. The text you type into the AI assistant or tools is processed to generate the answer (see the AI section below).

Information collected automatically

• Usage and quota records. We track how many AI requests an account makes per day to enforce fair-use limits.
• Server logs and error reports. Standard technical logs (timestamps, request paths, error details) that help us keep the site working. They are kept only as long as needed for debugging and security.
• Cookies. We use cookies for one thing: keeping you signed in (authentication session). We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How AI processing works

When you use the AI assistant or an AI-powered tool, your question and the context needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. We do not use your questions to train AI models. Do not include sensitive personal information in questions; none is needed to get a good answer about a machine.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that run the site: our hosting and database provider (Supabase), our AI provider (Anthropic), and Google when you choose Google sign-in. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Your choices and rights

• You can browse the whole site without an account.
• You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by emailing support@heavyequipmentfix.com. Public forum posts may be kept in anonymized form so threads stay readable.
• You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at the same address.

Children

The site is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
