What does JLG Articulating Boom Lift error code 00 mean?

Code 00 is used by JLG for several related conditions rather than one specific defect. Depending on which description applies, it can mean the machine has slowed itself to creep speed because it is tilted and above elevation, slowed to cutback speed because it is out of transport position, suspended hydraulic function because an envelope limit was reached, or is simply reporting that a platform foot switch is open.

For the tilt and elevation condition, the machine is considered 'tilted' if the chassis is greater than 5.0 degrees in any direction, or greater than 3.0 degrees to the side when the tower angle is greater than 60 degrees. It is considered 'above elevation' if the tower boom is greater than +2.0 degrees from the turntable, or the main boom is greater than +2.0 degrees from the tower boom. When both tilted and above elevation, all boom function speeds are limited to creep.

For the transport position condition, drive speed is limited to the maximum set in the machine's Personality settings whenever the machine is out of transport position, meaning the main boom is not retracted to less than 4 feet and parallel to the tower boom, or the tower boom is not retracted and down to within 2.0 degrees of the turntable.

For envelope encroachment, the system suspends hydraulics to prevent the machine from moving further outside the main or tower envelope. The operator must use the APU to telescope in or lower the boom back inside the envelope before normal function resumes.
